Who We Are

The Survivor Resource Center serves child, adolescent and adult victims of sexual assault and their loved ones by providing counseling, legal and medical advocacy, case management, and awareness/prevention programs for community members and professionals. Our services are completely free and confidential, and available around the clock, every day of the year. We operate a 24-hour local hotline that is fully staffed with local, trained professionals and volunteers who are ready to provide help and answer questions. SRC is a non-profit agency – supported through grants and community donations – committed to ending sexual violence in our community. We serve Vermilion, Edgar and Clark counties in Illinois.

Formerly known as the Vermilion County Rape Crisis Center, we made important changes in 2018-19. We underwent a name change to the Survivor Resource Center to better reflect who we serve and because we see our clients as strong, resilient survivors. As our staff has grown, we also moved from our location in Tilton to the current building at 923 N. Vermilion in Danville. The new space is more centrally located for our clients and provides the space we need for our growing staff.

Our Mission

The Survivor Resource Center’s primary mission is to serve victims of sexual violence by providing counseling and advocacy services, and to promote awareness and prevention through specialized education programs, with the ultimate goal of ending sexual violence within our community.

We Believe You. We’re Here to Help.
