Join us for an unforgettable evening of courage, creativity, and connection. This open mic event invites poets, songwriters, and artists to share powerful expressions of empowerment in the face of trauma and abuse.

This inspiring night uplifts and empowers survivors of trauma and abuse through art and expression.
If you are a trauma survivor, this night is for you. Bring an original poem, song, or piece of art to share.
Special Guest: Rachel Fenner - local poet, published author, and trauma survivor. Rachel will have her published work "in the margins of survival, a memoir" for sale.
Admission and participation are 100% free! The coffee bar will be open to purchase drinks.
To Perform or Showcase Art:
Poem or Original Song
Performing an original poem or song for Unbreakable will be a "first come, first serve" sign-up. Basic sound equipment and a keyboard will be provided. Please bring any other instruments or materials you need. All styles of poetry and music that demonstrate the theme of the event are encouraged.
*Be mindful that this is a family-friendly and public event. Although we are encouraging expressing empowerment due to trauma and abuse, refrain from graphic descriptions that are not appropriate for all ages.
Visual Art
If you are interested in showcasing a piece of original visual art, you are welcome to bring it to the event or reach out via email to Special Events Coordinator, Lea to set up a time to drop it off at Survivor Resource Center for us to bring to the event. Any style of visual art is accepted that demonstrates the theme of the event. Easels will be provided on site to display art.
